I think Dawson plays better for us when partnering Ogbonna rather than Diop.

For me he plays better as the junior partner to a better player than as the senior of two centre backs.

If we could have the Ogbonna/Dawson partnership back for the last five or six games it would be a timely boost.

I'll wait until Ogbonna gets back to full speed before judging him as being partnered with nervous Nerys (Diop) is not a good gauge and it all coincides.

Ha why am I a cock, is it hard to believe a player who has only played in struggling sides and couldn't get in a championship side can hit a rich vein of form.

Do you think if he had played like that all his career he wouldn't have been more successful?

He has been magnificent for us, but is now showing the form he has for most of his career, which leads me to believe the excellent form was a blip and not the poor form now.

If you have reason to believe otherwise I'd love to know why.

I'd imagine he isn't having a bad period now but was having a good period.

If the good was his normal he wouldn't have been rotting in Watford's reserves or on our bench.

for what we paid, we have had a bargain. All defenders have bad periods - Arthur, Cresswell, Diop have all had mares at some point. It happens, esp when they are under pressure from an underperforming midfield and a defensive set up. He has won us more points than he has lost us. I'll take that. how many were clamouring for Tarkowski - 30 million, do me a favour.///

Accept it for what it is. He had a great run of form and that helped get us a few results. Stick him on the bench again and bring back Balbuena if we play three at the back.

He's not a lost cause, but he needs to get his head right again.

It's nothing of the sort, he just had a spell of very good for and was playing out of his skin. It's now over.

Dawson is just doing what he has done at other clubs and why he hadn't kicked on.
We need to play to his strengths and have him do the simple things. He worked best in a back 4 alongside Ogbonna. Been pretty hopeless in a back 5 and when he has been expected to distribute the ball under pressure. We have got away with several other mistakes he has made.

Some on here were calling for him to be in the England squad. How stupid do you feel now?
He's a squad player and decent backup but as I have said before, we need better.

Suppose it was to much to ask or hope for instead of passing the ball to Dawson it was passed FORWARD towards the opposition goal.

We get a player in on loan that can’t get a game where he is.He looks brilliant so we sign him on a long term deal and he turns into a pile of shit, now where’s that lingaard contract

We're starting to see why Watford fans weren't upset about losing him - his form has definitely declined in the last few games and I can't help wondering if he has got a bit complacent after all the plaudits he's been getting and his permanent signing. He is only human after all. He had to fight to get and then keep his place in the side, and that attitude may have worn off a bit. He is now suspended for a game, and with Ogbonna now fit it's going to be interesting to see if Dawson gets back in the side afterwards or if Diop keeps his place.

he scored a couple of own goals in recent weeks and got sent off for a tackle after trying to rescue a loose pass. So what, what defender hasn't been sent off in their career. Im not going to hang him out for that, hes been an absolute revelation

Most posters have noticed his lack of form. While one was too busy watching for others to fuck up so didn't notice..

For his expectations and the money he cost, Dawson has been an absolute revelation this season. Surplus to requirements at a relegated team, we all just expected another Roger Johnson style signing, but he stepped in and looked fantastic. He has surely far, far exceeded anyones wildest expectations of him when he signed.

Unfortunately without Rice protecting the defence he is being exposed and making huge errors. Time for him to be put back on the bench - at least until someone other than Noble is playing.
